Many people do not know it but there is a lot more to moving customers locally than providing a truck and a few movers. North Carolina and South Carolina have rules that legitimate, licensed movers follow.
Local moving in North Carolina is regulated by the North Carolina Utilities Commission. In NC a local move is one in which the origin and destination are 35 miles or less apart. Every mover licensed to perform local moves is to charge customers an hourly rate for their moving services. Licensed moving company owners have been FBI background checked and each year must prove to the NCUC that they maintain the standards of being a legal mover in North Carolina. Licensed movers in North Carolina display their license number in all advertising. Mather Brothers’ license number is C-2030. Our license numbers are listed on the left side of the footer of each of our web-pages.
